We were thrilled to receive a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop and deliver our Faith to Faith project. Faith to Faith will celebrate our 45 year history of bringing people together through interfaith dialogue. The stories of first-generation immigrants, many of which have been left untold, will be recorded to give a unique perspective on their experiences and the role of faith in helping them establish their lives in Newham. We will be delivering this project with our partner, Eastside Community Heritage. Together we will be recruiting volunteers interested in oral history and reminiscence. As well as recording people’s voices, there will also be a photography exhibition, a booklet and a website. Volunteers will be trained to record the memories of first-generation immigrants, they will also learn how to research and archive information. The National Lottery Heritage Fund has given us a wonderful opportunity for these untold stories to be brought to life and to be preserved indefinitely.
